Bonnie vs. Clyde, april/05

She packs a bag full of emotion.
Her lips are tightened, and beside her distilled body he sits next to her.
There is bitterness, frustration, and anger inside of her,
And he knows nothing.
She sits and soaks in the now like an insubstantial sponge.

He has grown to love a painted face.

Their lives together are a rainbow of darkened colors.
Yellowed hope threads them together;
weak, but powerful.
Balanced.
Their happiness is a rollercoaster
With ultimate highs and lows;
Free, careless, spontaneous.
Satisfying?
It might just be.

They have in common the remains of skeletons in their closets,
Yet they let go of their pasts to embrace their future.
He sings to her and tells her everything’s all right,
As she screams with her lungs to the open atmosphere,
“Why are you like this?”
He is made deaf and can only watch the words escape from her chaffed lips.

But he loves her,
And she gives herself in its entity to him.
Forever?
It might just be.
